Wilson Ranch is located in Sterling County, Texas.Larry and Tina Wilson have owned and operated the ranch for over 40 years.
In the past we have maintain a herd of over 2000 head of rambouillet sheep, but now our main focus is on a herd of 300 cows and a smaller herd of 100 dorper ewes. We added the dorpers in 2003 with a grand total of 3 ewes. We have grown to a herd of 100 ewes by using a embryo transfer program to build our herd of quality sheep.
We focus on production traits to keep a level of excellence in our stud rams and ewes. We lamb from October through March which enables some of the ewes to have 3 lambings in 2 years.
We invite you to call or come by the ranch to visit with us. We are always happy to help in anyway we can to get new breeders up and going or help to enhance the herd of a existing breeder.
We are also members and supporters of the American Dorper Sheep Breeders Society and the Texas Hill Country Dorper Association along as long time members of the Texas Sheep and Goat Raisers Association.
